The Outpatient Program (OP) at Élevé Wellness is the most flexible level of outpatient care with treatment sessions once or twice a week for adults managing mental health conditions, substance use, or both. OP is built for people continuing recovery while living a full life, and it focuses on relapse prevention and long-term support. We verify your insurance in 15 minutes.
Who our Outpatient Program is for
OP is the right level of care when you need consistent clinical support but no longer require the intensity of PHP or IOP. It fits adults who have completed a higher level of care and want to protect their progress, and people whose symptoms are stable enough to manage with weekly sessions while working, studying, or caring for family. We treat mental health conditions, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. OP is the maintenance level of our continuum: enough structure to keep you accountable, light enough to fit around a full schedule.
What our Outpatient Program looks like
OP at Élevé is treatment sessions once or twice a week, set after an intake assessment and adjusted as your progress builds. Sessions focus on relapse prevention, life skills, and strengthening your support network, through a mix of individual counseling and group work. Many people start weekly and taper as they stabilize. You can attend in person at our Hillsborough facility or by secure telehealth, and your care team adjusts frequency based on how you are doing rather than a fixed end date. The goal of OP is to keep clinical support in your life while you carry the weight of daily routines on your own.
Conditions we treat in our Outpatient Program
Our OP treats the following:
- Depression and mood disorders
- Anxiety and panic disorders
- Trauma and PTSD
- Bipolar disorder
- Substance use disorders
- Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
If you are unsure whether OP is enough support for where you are, an intake assessment sorts it out. Call (833) 902-7098 to talk it through.
Therapies and modalities in our Outpatient Program
Our OP uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and EMDR, delivered in individual and group sessions and focused on maintaining progress.
CBT helps you catch and redirect the thought patterns that can lead to relapse or a return of symptoms. DBT reinforces the emotional-regulation and distress-tolerance skills that keep you steady under real-world pressure. EMDR remains available for people continuing trauma work, delivered by clinicians trained in the protocol. At the outpatient level, group work centers on relapse prevention and applying skills to the situations you face week to week, and your therapist helps you adjust as new challenges come up.
How Outpatient fits into the continuum at Élevé
OP is the final step in our outpatient continuum, and you reach it by stepping down rather than starting here in most cases. Many people arrive at OP after completing our Intensive Outpatient Program, using weekly sessions to hold the gains they made at a higher level. If your needs increase, you can step back up to IOP or our Partial Care Program without leaving Élevé. When a mental health condition and substance use occur together, our co-occurring disorders treatment continues at the outpatient level. Because every level runs in the same building with the same clinical team, moving between them does not mean starting over.
IOP vs. OP: which level is right for you?
Dimension | Intensive Outpatient (IOP) | Outpatient (OP) |
|---|---|---|
Intensity | A few hours a day, several days a week | Once or twice a week |
Best for | Active treatment; step-down from PHP | Maintenance; step-down from IOP |
Focus | Building recovery and coping skills | Relapse prevention and holding progress |
Time commitment | Moderate; works around work or school | Minimal; fits a full schedule |
Common next step | Step down to OP | Continued or less frequent support |
IOP is the right level when you are actively building recovery and need several sessions a week. OP is the right level when you are stable and want to protect your progress with lighter, consistent support. Many people move from IOP to OP as they strengthen, and your clinical team recommends the right point at assessment.
